Steve Zipperstein, CLO of Blackberry, speaks to Argyle's General Counsel membership on hacking, sabotage, and corporate liability in the modern digital landscape.
"[There is] lots and lots and lots of concern for those of us in-house to make sure we’re doing everything we can to work with our own teams, to work with our technical people and to make sure that we’re availing ourselves of the best possible technology so that if we get hacked and if we get sued we can at least proffer the defense that we did everything reasonably possible to prevent it."
"Well, the reality is that Visa seems like a very simple business. It's a little plastic card that people buy things with, but the reality is behind the curtains it’s a very complex business. We have products in multiple countries – debit, credit, prepaid – endless technologies that are currently emerging. There is plenty of work to spread around to outside counsel."
