American Greetings general counsel Catherine Kilbane was named to the same position with Sherwin-Williams. Crain’s Cleveland Business reports that Kilbane will replace Lou Stellato, who is retiring after 31 years.
“We’re very pleased that [Catherine] Kilbane will be joining [Sherwin-Williams],” said Chris Connor, CEO of Sherwin-Williams. “[Kilbane] will oversee delivery of domestic and global legal services, [and] advise management on all aspects of legal and regulatory matters including corporate governance.”
Kilbane has served as American Greetings’ general counsel for nine years. She will assume general counsel responsibilities for Sherwin-Williams effective Jan. 7.
Sherwin-Williams continues to expand, and the largest retail paint supplier in the United States opened its 3,500th store last month. In addition, company officials are searching for ways to expand the business’ brand in 2013.
“By expanding our retail footprint, we are able to offer our exceptional products and service to even more customers,” Sherwin-Williams spokesperson Jay Davisson said, according to a press release. “We provide a high level of personalized service with expert advice from salespeople who understand everything from the color selection process to choosing the right product for the job.”
Meanwhile, American Greetings has appointed Christopher Haffke to serve as the greeting card supplier’s new general counsel.
