Workspot co-founder and CEO Amitabh Sinha discussed workspace as a service and its value for today’s businesses during a Thought Leadership Spotlight Presented by Workspot at the 2015 Chief Information Officer Leadership Forum in Chicago on June 17. In his presentation, “Re-Think App Delivery with Workspace as a Service,” Sinha noted that workspace as a service can help an organization better connect with its consumers because it enables an organization to effectively deliver content to consumers via smartphones and tablets.
According to Sinha, the average consumer typically uses three to four devices. Organizations, meanwhile, are responsible for ensuring consumers can access information quickly and easily on multiple devices, Sinha said. However, if an organization invests in its infrastructure, Sinha said, it can fully support consumers’ needs at all times: “Your infrastructure needs to adjust to that speed because if you’re infrastructure cannot adjust to the speed at which the devices are moving, it’s always going to feel like a BlackBerry experience. Which is you’re in tight control, but your end users are completely on a different planet.”
In addition, Sinha said organizations should focus on access and speed with their mobile apps. By doing so, Sinha pointed out that organizations can revamp the way they deliver apps: “App delivery needs to be reinvented for simplified access for end users and providing greater speed for IT. Both [access and speed] have to be combined at the same time.”
